Listing forks owner other repo: "Something went wrong while executing your query"

#1

Hi,

I was just experimenting with queries and it seems like a fairly simple one.
I just wanted to see if it was possible to see the owner of a forks from a repo has other repo.
It is just by curiosity, nothing important about it.

I received this error:

“Something went wrong while executing your query. This is most likely a GitHub bug. Please include “71353D50:082A:116A53FC:5847A7A1” when reporting this issue.”

In short: repo --> forks --> owner --> list 5 repo of owner

Query:

{
  repository(owner: "veggiemonk", name: "awesome-docker"){
    forks(first:30){
      totalCount
      edges{
        node{
          owner{
            repositories(first:5){
              totalCount
              edges{
                node{
                  name
                }
              }
            }
          }
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

I hope it helps, please let me know if I did something wrong.

Can confirm. The problem is that you cannot list more than 17 forks at once (17 for me, the magic number might be something else for you). If you change forks to (first: 15) you should be fine. This happens in any query where forks is used, other query params don’t matter.

My own error code was: C6BC:19EDA:D25D579:1116BC23:5898DE34

Thanks a lot for the follow up!

I think the problem here is with the error message that is really opaque! “Something when wrong” is not really helpful.

Hi @veggiemonk,

I just wanted to make sure that this is still an issue. I just ran the query of your original post and it seems to be working.

Please let us know :bow:,

Hi @bswinnerton,

Sorry to say that the problem is still there, even with forks(first:15)

{
“data”: null,
“errors”: [
{
“message”: “Something went wrong while executing your query. This is most likely a GitHub bug. Please include “DF08:6161:63442F7:7A3E167:58A48E9B” when reporting this issue.”
}
]
}

I used GraphiQL 0.4.2 to run the query.
